Kindness Conference
July 18, 2026
8:00am-5:00pm

in person in Central Ohio

(location is private prior to registration)

What is a kindness conference?

This is our first conference in Central Ohio for trauma survivors, their loved ones, and anyone wishing to help build kind community together. It is a day-long community-building conference of making kindness and support with each other.

‘Kindness’ is often confused with ‘niceness’.  ‘Nice’ usually just means being socially pleasant or un-disturbing to others.  Kindness is different.  Kindness is the active desire to recognize the unmet needs of others as well as ourselves, and then to take action to try and meet those needs.  This is also what creates community - when a group of people try to meet unmet needs together.

Our kindness conference is a day-long community-building conference to share experiences, ideas, and the impact of our unmet needs as individuals and communities. Together we can make efforts for developing sustainable structures and spaces to begin solving for those unmet needs, increase kindness, and build community.

Who is a kindness conference for?

Overall, this conference is for everyone who wants more kindness in their life.  Given that a lack of kindness clearly causes pain and suffering, and kindness - in general - helps people just feel better, it seems appropriate that anyone who wishes to experience more kindness is welcome.

Our kindness conference is a purposeful invitation to people who have experienced profound un-kindness - those who have survived neglect, abuse, and other extreme conditions.  Survivors of complex trauma and their helpers tend to be profoundly impacted by the effects of unkindness, and the effects of abuse and neglect greatly inhibit survivors’ access to help and community.

We also recognize that there are many people who are lacking community, and lacking help.  All who are wanting to acknowledge and act upon this are welcome.

                  Info coming soon.

What is the cost to attend?

While it is often unfortunate reality, finances should not prevent people from kindness or community. We don’t want financial difficulties to prevent anyone from attending this opportunity. Ticketing for this conference is donation-based. Due to the reality of our venue and catering costs, the suggested donation is $110 per person. No one will be turned away for lack of funds, and it is okay to donate less if you cannot afford the cost. For those who can contribute more than the suggested donation, your generosity helps support abuse survivors in active abuse conditions.

Donations are tax-deductible and will support emergency hardship funds for extreme abuse survivors exiting active abuse conditions.

Conference Registration

Conference registration for new people begins by completing an intake orientation via phone or zoom. We are currently offering 15-30 minute intake orientations for those wishing to attend the conference. If you are interested in attending the conference or would like to know more, you can either complete this registration form, or contact us at kindgroups@proton.me.

Seeking volunteers for conference planning and doing!

We have a venue booked for July 18th to host a conference for anybody needing more kindness in their life, especially complex trauma survivors and pro-survivors. We are seeking people in Ohio who want to plan/do this together. We need people to personally identify and help generate invites to those who would benefit, help organize the conference itself, directly work the conference (such as registration, A/V, tech, planning and spreading the word, etc.), and sponsor CEs for those wanting/needing professional CEs for attendance. Note, announcement of our conference will be by word of mouth and invite only for safety.

To volunteer please email kindgroups@proton.me and let us know how you’d like to volunteer!

Our next conference planning meeting is on Saturday, May 2nd!
